Dr. Wail E. Asfour was born in Jerusalem and is currently married with four children. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. He received his medical degree from the University of Patras School of Medicine in Patras, Greece. He earned a full medical school scholarship and graduated with high honors.
Dr. Asfour completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of North Dakota in Fargo, North Dakota and was awarded the Exceptional Teaching Award by University of North Dakota medical students.
Dr. Asfour then completed his Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Afterward, he finished his Cardiovascular Fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was awarded the Exceptional Teaching Award by the Louisiana State University medical students.
His research was conducted at Duke University Clinical Research Institute in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Asfour has multiple publications in the field of Cardiovascular Medicine and Electrocardiography. He received the American Federation for Medical Research Award and was awarded by the American College of Cardiology/Louisiana Chapter for research in Cardiovascular Medicine.
Dr. Asfour is American Board Certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and cardiac rhythm device therapy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention. He is also a member of the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Asfour has been specialized in the field of Vascular Disease for the past fifteen years.
